چکیده
It is widely established debriefing in business games is important and influences the students' learning performance. Most games only support game statistics instead of explaining solution paths. We suggest the automatic generation of explanations for internet-mediated business games to improve the debriefing quality. As a proof of concept we developed a prototype of an internet-based auction game embedding an open simulation model and an automatic explanation component helping students and teachers to analyse the decision making process. This paper describes the usefulness of automated explanations and the underlying generic software architecture.

The music industry is an interesting example for how business models from the pre-Internet area can get into trouble in the new Internet-based economy. Since 2000, the music industry has suffered declining sales, and very often this is attributed to the advent of the Internet-based peer-to-peer file sharing programs. We argue that this explanation is only one of several possible explanations, a...

Business mangement simulation plays an increasing role in schooling and post-qualification. In complex simulation games the interrelationships between decisions and results are intransparent. This is one reason for inefficient knowledge acquisition. Another reason is the forward chaining architecture of "classical" simulation games. In this paper we describe a prototype of a business simulation...
